I haven't been feeling too well in the last little bit. So, here's a picture of Isis, sitting on Oliver's new favorite spot...trying to pretend that she isn't looking around in a paranoid fashion.

Saturday, 21 January 2012

Calli has long been a fan of sitting in the sink. Oliver has long been a fan of drinking water out of our mugs/glasses. Glad to see that they can still learn new tricks from each other...

Saturday was somewhat less eventful than the last few days - but mostly because I had very high level pain in my finger joints. I suspect that it was a combination of using my hands so much this past week and high humidity (which always seems to aggravate my rheumatoid arthritis).

Early in the morning, I finally found the arcane combination of actions that let to the music from our 5th generation iPod showing up in iTunes. A little over a year ago, the backup of our pc backup went poof and we lost most of the music that we had ripped. I've replaced a lot of it - but after moving a few states away, some music has still not been located. Thanks to the proprietary bullshit that is Apple - I had to download a third-party program to actually move the music onto our external drive. But after a few hours, and a mercifully sparse amount of swearing, I was able to get most (maybe all) of it moved. Now, I'm in the process of removing duplicates and making sure that everything is intact.

I spent part of the day re-reading the Slaying Stone adventure that our D&D group will start out with. I flagged a few pages for future development and eventual entry into my initiative/condition tracker. But, I ran out of post-it flags about mid-way through - so I guess I need to run out to the store next. (Always a dangerous journey - especially if it is an office supply store...I'll likely end up with parchment paper and a collection of gel pens before it is over...)

Most of the day, I was reading Joe Haldeman's new book Earthbound. I'm already about 45% through it. I'm not sure if it's that the action is more fast-paced, or just that I spent a larger chunk of time reading than usual - but I am really enjoying it. I had planned to read the Forever War series next - but I like to break up my universes (to prevent confusion), so I may go back to the Nerath (D&D) novels next.

In the evening, we re-watched Star Wars: Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. I was actually surprised by how much detail I had forgotten - but then, I think I've only seen them in their entirety once before. It's funny what a new MMO will make you want to do... :)
